Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve

4 April 2019

This was one of those days when you wonder why you don’t stop still more often.  I remember this Park fondly from numerous trips throughout my life. A great view and a lovely picnic area. But I never remembered it like this. A new Environment centre and cafe as well as a leisurely short walk through the rainforest of about 2km. The rainforest lived up to its name when a downpour cut our walk short but not before we had seen lots of wildlife and interesting plants. What I was not able to get a photo of was a close encounter with a Green Cat Bird. Catherine and I spent almost 5 hrs of walking, eating, learning and resting in this beautiful spot. A great place to take a visitor from OS!
